PE – Home Learning

How can you help your child with P.E?

  • Increase physical activity levels for children outside of school. Allocate free time to be active and give opportunities to your child to try different activities.
  • Being active yourself – your child will notice and be more likely to follow your lead.
  • Being active together – this is one of the best ways to get children into physical activity. Making time to have fun playing actively with your child has many benefits. It’s great to find something you both enjoy doing.
  • Consider gifts that encourage activity, like kites, skipping ropes, balls, sporting equipment or bikes and scooters.
  • Take regular walks together. You can walk to and from school, looking for parks along the way. ‘Active transport’ like walking, cycling or using a scooter is an easy way to increase levels of physical activity.

Experience PE with your family

There are many ways to experience PE with your child.

Children can visit sports centres in the local area.

Following your sports centre visit, children can:

  • Have a discussion about athletes that inspire them.
  • Design their own sports kit.
  • Create a poster about their favourite athlete.
  • Take part in their own sports day at home.
