At Hill Farm, we aim to ignite in all children a passion for maths which enables them to grow into critical thinkers and problem solvers.
We believe that every child should be excited by and talk passionately about maths. The skills gained here will enable children to grow and develop into critical thinkers and problem solvers. We have adopted a mastery approach to the learning and teaching of mathematics to nurture well-rounded mathematicians.
Our maths curriculum is based on White Rose Maths, a UK mastery programme designed to spark curiosity and excitement while nurturing children’s mathematical confidence. At Hill Farm, we recognise that children need to learn concepts using concrete materials, develop these ideas through pictorial methods and advance into a more abstract approach as their understanding of the concept increases.
